Billy Graham and his impact on my life // A Book Review

UnknownI had the amazing privilege as a young high schooler to see one of my role models Billy Graham in person at one of his crusade events in Jacksonville. The year was 2000 and the event was held at what is now known as EverBank Arena.

It was packed to capacity.
The choir was massive.
The atmosphere spiritual.
But we were there not to hear a man, but to worship God.

I will never forget that evening.
And there was no denying the man with the most enthusiasm in the arena was Billy.

I have been intrigued by Billy’s leadership since I first heard about him as a child from my parents. He has been a role model of mine ever since.

The Christian Post shares these comments about Billy:
Graham has preached the Gospel to nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories around the globe, not counting those he’s reached through television and other forms of broadcasting, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website. His counsel has been sought by U.S. presidents. He has written 31 books, and has been named to Gallup’s annual “Ten Most Admired Men in the World” list 56 times.

Billy Graham has been the most consistent Christian leader of my life time. Not perfect, but in my opinion never faltering. He has been determined, even in his later years, to lift up Jesus in all that he does. As one of the greatest pastors of our time, we can all learn from him.

I was excited  a couple of months ago when I received an ebook, Billy Graham in Quotes by Franklin Graham (Billy’s son). As a individual who writes weekly and loves books, the more resources I have at my possession the better. To have a resource like this, which is nothing but quotes from Billy, on an array of topics is perfect for any writer or blogger. As well as a great resource for guidance on many subjects and life’s difficlutiies.

Proverbs 1:5 (ESV)
Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance…

This book is also a perfect resource for a graduate or someone who loves the ministry of Billy Graham. I’d urge you to check it out on Amazon and see what you think…
