I’m still pumped from Sunday. Sunday was an amazing day at CCA. We held our first ever “Verge Student Takeover” and the entire day blew me away. The students and staff at our church are an amazing group of Jesus followers who understand they were made to live their life for something more and they will not be held hostage by normalcy.
They understand “one is to small a number to achieve greatness.” They proved it yesterday. The same is true everywhere. Ever individual we admire in the past and present has had a team around them to help them succeed. This is true no matter the field. Whether it’s a sports hero like Michael Jordan, revolutionary thinkers like Albert Einstein, or spiritual leaders like Billy graham, John Wesley or John Calvin. Everyone who has ever done anything with impact on this earth, had a team they surrounded themselves with.
We can even argue the same with Jesus because he Himself is one aspect of the Trinitarian God we serve. As well, His disciples and those who were a part of His team at that moment in time, fought as a united group to spread His message.
The belief that one person can do something great is a myth. Our pride wants the opposite to be true, which we can fuel ourselves with, and allow it to lead us down a destination of destruction.
But we need to know, “Individuals play games, but teams win championships.”
And it is so amazing to be a part of a such a group of team players that God can move in our church they way He moved Sunday.
Lyndon Johnson once said, “There are no problems we cannot solve together and very few that we can solve by ourselves.”
One is to small of a number for greatness.
So go join a team and allow the impossible to become possible.
Go be apart of changing the world around you by joining others to do the same.
